June 17, 2013

pues, hola. this week was good! nothing too outrageous! I confirmed Erick yesterday so that was cool! I Really dont know what to write for this week. haha just a normal week with lessons and tracting  and what not. Did you know lamb is REALLY good??? man.  I've had it twice here now and it just keeps getting better! On the other hand, I've had some pretty gnarly food.  Hermana dominguez gave us refried beans in spinach ( how do you spell that?) and RAW fat. on top of a tortilla...... yum. I had to force that down so hard. Everything is going ok!  transfers are in a week so thats a little stressful. and I'm getting "transfered" tonight on an exchange with someone. Dont know where yet. But probably Nogales. Dont worry mom, It's only for one day. haha till I get transfered down there next week;) Just kidding. I dont think I'm leaving this area this transfer. never know though! I got a big cup full of stuff  for fathers day! haha Dont argue with free stuff. unless its raw fat... argue... I hope y'all had a good fathers day and I hope you have a good week! Love you, Miss you all! Thanks for everything you do for me and my family! -Elder Alstud

June 10, 2013

again already? holy smokes..... so tuesday we mowed a lawn for someone. and we ate dinner with Bill and his family. other than that, nothing fancy happened that day. wednesday night, we found out that there is an African college student living 4 doors down from us. who has NO money NO food. nothing. so we boxed up about a month and a half worth of our food, and went over and gave it to him. He just started bawling. As did we. I LOVE giving. And that leads me into my challenge for ya'll. find someone that needs SOMETHING. anything. smile, hug, food, a dollar, whatever it is. do it for them. One simple action can cause a chain reaction of good deeds, no? I truly believe that. I want reports too! ok back to my week, nothing crazy happened between wednesday and friday, untill about 1130 pm. Bill's daughter came pounding on our door and said we needed to come over. So we got over there and Tisha(Bill's wife) was not herself. there was something evil inside her. We read some scriputres to her, and then we prayed. as soon as the words " anything evil in this house needs to leave, in the name of Jesus Christ" were said, it left. we all felt it leave. Then I looked up at Tisha and she was bawling. And saying a prayer of her own. Prayer works people, TRY IT.  Saturday was her baptism and it was beautiful. I had to give a lesson in front of everybody. not so beautiful. Then sunday I confirmed her. I could feel the spirit flow out of my fingertips and into her. This church is true. know it, live it, love it. Until next week, I love you all! I expect reports! -Elder Alston

As you can tell, Elder Alston does not edit his emails before sending them. Nor does he care if he spells things right  : ) Love him!!

wh wh wh wha whats up folks?  this week was pretty uneventful... so this might be kinda short. Bill's wife is getting dunked!!! :O and guess who she asked to confirm her! MEEEE! :) so excited! I gotta learn how to do that in spanish... haha thats next saturday. So friday we gave a blessing at the VA hospital again. only this time, It wasnt a blessing I was expecting to give. I thought it was going to be a healing blessing. But as it went on. I realized what the lord wanted. He needed him up there with him. so... it turned out to be a blessing of passing. I bawled my eyes out. after it, he said it was the most beautiful blessing he had ever heard. and it was exactly what he wanted. bitter sweet moment. saturday ws a rollercoaster.  We baptized Bill and his daughter. And then 3 hours later, we caught him smoking. We got a little frustrated with him. he got ticked at us. so we all prayed. called president, and he said it was still ok if he got confirm on sunday. so we went through with that. and we helped our ward mission leader move for two days. he has lots of stuff. haha I love service. we do it SO much here. its AWESOME. I cooked dinner both friday and saturday. that was fun. a member FILLED our freezer with steaks from the cow he just killed a few days ago. haha:) yum!! oh and salmon! gotta love members! :) anyway. thats all the exciting stuff from this week. LOVE YOU ALL! -elder Alston
