January 27, 2014

this week was great here in Willcox! Susie got baptized and confirmed. Friday we went out to brother Davis's house and cleaned up his field with the tractor we fixed a couple weeks ago. it took about 5 hours. then after that we went and talked with Barbara and Gilberto(The guy who got picked up by border patrol). He's back! He is ready to get baptized he told us. While he was in prison, another guy gave him a book of Mormon and told him how much it helped him. He started reading it and now he's on page 200. sometimes it takes a tragic event to make us realize we need to get back on track I guess!

Saturday we chopped wood with the Rogers from 9 to 1, went home and got ready for the baptism. which went very well. President and Sister Killpack even came to see it! :)

Hopefully we'll have a few more baptisms this transfer. sorry im not the best at writing.. haha
thank you all for everything you do for me and my family! Love you! -Elder Taylor Alston

January 21, 2014

Hey everyone! this week is transfers hence me emailing on Tuesday. Elder Matiz and I are staying in Willcox together for one more transfer. So today is a VERY happy day. haha:) This past week was another busy one.
Tuesday: we had exchanges. I went to Elfrida With Elder Baker. literally the weirdest people I've ever met. haha I'm pretty sure thats where all the meth addicts move because there's like 1 cop for the whole town.
Wednesday: we had zone meeting pretty much all day
Thursday: we went and saw an in-active member. His daughter (ashley, who we have been teaching) asked him to baptize her. Now he wants to be re-activated! haha Way to go Ashley!
Friday: We were at the rogers' house pretty much all day helping them with yard work and what not. they fed us lunch and we played a game of football, then went to dinner at the larsons. after dinner we played Foosball. haha it was a really good day:)
Saturday:  We helped Brad Nielson bulid a play set for his kids at his new house, Then moved a whole bunch of 500 pound steel pipes for him. then went to stake conference.
Sunday: went to stake conference, Went to lunch at the nolans, Went to the douglas's for dinner and then went to the Mentzers for dinner number 2 haha.
How is everything going back in Utah? any fun stories? thank you to those who write me. It means a whole lot more than you think it does. I love you all! see ya next week!

January 12, 2014

another week down, This week was busy. here's what happened.
Wednesday: we drove to benson for zone training at 9am.. that went to about 1pm. then we went to lunch and got back to Willcox at about 3. then we went out with the bishop to visit an investigator but she wasn't there, so we went to a less actives house. ( the Benitez family) Hermana Benitez told us that she was praying for us to come over to their house and then we showed up! haha then we went to dinner at about 6. Then another lesson at 730
Thursday: Brother Davis called saying his tractor  wouldn't start again, so we drove out to his house, I worked on it for a couple hours, and got it running again, then we drove home showered and headed to Patty and Victor house. Patty said she believes the book of Mormon Is true, but she doesn't believe joseph smith. Which makes no sense to me. haha he translated it!!!! if its true.. he's true!!!
Fridaywe had Susie's interview and now she's all set for her baptism! We had to move it to the 25th because stake conference is this weekend.
Saturdaywe went up to phoenix along with 3 other missions. We heard from a member of the 70 and all the presidents and their wives.
Sundayafter church we went to see a less active member and she introduced us to her daughter and 3 Grandchildren. We taught about faith repentance baptism the holy ghost and enduring to the end. It went super well and now we have 3 new investigators. Diana, Eliana, and Naomi! they have a baptismal date for February 8th!
Transfers are next week, So I'll let y'all know what goes down... pray that I stay one more in Willcox!! Love you all! Till next week, Elder Taylor Alston

2014, huh? I cant even tell you how many times I've already written 2013...
so this week was full of ups and downs. Elder Matiz and I got strep throat early this week, so nothing really happenedMondayTuesday or Wednesday. the rest of the week worked out pretty well though. Susie is getting baptized on the 17th of this month. Along with 2 little kids that we've been teaching. Victor(11) and Ashley (8).
At the end of our lesson with Susie, she thanked us for being part of her family..that was one of the happiest times of my mission so far:)
then with victor, we took him to meet brother Davis yesterday. when we left, Victor said, "Hey Im pretty much a missionary!" haha it was so awesome! little kids are the most amazing people:)
well that's all the juice  I have for this week, I know there will be more next week. haha hopefully...
Love you all! -Elder Taylor Alston
