March 9, 2015

Well... This is weird. Im not sure how well this email will be written, as I can barely see the screen through all this water leaking randomly out of my eyes. Must be allergies.
Lets see if I can remember what we did this week.

Tuesday we did some service in the morning, then went to kinko's to put together some stuff for Zone Meeting

Wednesday. Then had a pass off lesson with an investigator who isn't YSA but is super solid.
Wednesday was zone meeting. It went SO well. President Passey came, and so did President Thies. ( Rincon Stake President). It was fun having them there giving input. After the meeting, a bunch of the missionaries said it was the best one they've ever had, Granted, for most of them, it was one their third one. But hey, I'll take what I can get! President Passey came to lunch with us afterwords and we had a really good conversation. It was fun getting to know him on a personal level.

Thursday was a pretty normal day, visiting less actives and such. That night we had a really good talk with a couple elders in our zone. I love taking care of issues like that. Just helping missionaries to improve. I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have.

Saturday we did service up on Mt. Lemmon from 9 am to about 3pm. It was way fun. Choppin wood and hauling lumber up the hill. Reminded me of the cabin.

This weekend was stake conference for us. It was great. Elder Paul B. Johnson of the 70 came and gave some amazing talks. after the Saturday night session, we were able to talk with him for a bit. He too is from Sandy, and his kids went to Jordan but he said he wouldn't hold it against me for going to Brighton.
Well, I think that's about all I can tell yall this week. so here's the last quote of the week.

A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.
David Brinkley
I love this quote. I have had a lot of "Bricks" thrown at me over the past 2 years but they just gave me more material to build my immovable foundation. Reminds me of Helaman 5:12
I love all of you and am so grateful for the support you've shown over the past 2 years. I look forward to seeing you soon. Elder Taylor Alston, over and out.

March 2, 2015

Sup errybody? another week down. crazy. I decided that I just don't understand the concept of time
because it feels like it just speeds up every second. So I stopped trying to figure out how it works.

This week was good!
Tuesday we went on exchanges, Elder Taylor came to my area with me. We had like 5 lessons and they were all great! Tuesday night, we had a meeting with the high councilman over the missionary work in the stake. We revised the stake mission plan and set new goals to hopefully improve and instill some motivation in the members. we'll see!

Wednesday we had district meeting.  then Garrett Douglas came up from Willcox and we went to lunch with him. I love that family so much!!

Thursday went pretty well. I got to eat dinner with the family who was the bishop at the time I was in Pima ward. so that was fun, they wanted to see me again before I leave.

Friday we had MLC from 9- 4, so that was super exciting. haha then we took Elder Taylor and Hff out to get ice cream and talk a little ( they are struggling).

Saturday we did service pretty much all day, Then went to dinner with the Christensen's from Thatcher. Connor was up here getting mission clothes! It was great to see them again!

Sunday was normal. The less active that we are working with got up and bore his testimony. It was SWEET! He talked about how  much we've helped him and how much happier he's been these past few weeks! I LOVE seeing people change. THAT is why I do what I do each day. This it true work that we are all enlisted in. I promise you.

"If you live long enough, you'll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you'll be a better person. It's how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit."
-William J. Clinton
I love yall. Thank you for everything. talk to you next time.
-Elder Taylor Alston
