Hello again everyone. Transfers went well (After I finished crying my eyes out because I was leaving Coronado). I'm all settled in here in good ol' Thatcher, AZ. My companion, Elder Call, And I were white-washed into this area together. So we have been trying to get our bearings. Here's a little de-brief on what we've been up to so far.
Tuesday: got up at 0530 to make it to the transfer site. Said my goodbyes, had transfer meeting, got on the van, and drove about 2 hours to Thatcher. When we got here, we put all our stuff in our house, and went to lunch with the ZL's and a member. (Free lunch is never a bad thing). We then went and played sports at the church for a little while. Then we had to get down to business. We went and saw The 4th ward mission leader and discussed our plans and goals for the area.
Wednesday: We did service from 0800-1030, then district meeting from. then lunch, Then we had a lesson with Brianna Mooney. On of our solid investigators that the sisters were teaching before they left. She is 13, and SUPER intelligent. She knows everything and is super ready for baptism. We just have to deal with her Anti-Mormon dad. Then we had dinner with the 7th ward mission leader (Tom Palmer). And discussed that wards needs and goals. Then we went to 4th ward mutual to introduce ourselves to the youth. They have a solid priest quorum. After mutual, we met with the 4th ward bishop and offered any service he needs.
Thursday: Crossfit at 0600, then came home and studied. Then helped someone move some stuff down some stairs and then up some more. Then we met with Jon, a 16 year old solid investigator. we discussed his baptism for the 22nd. Hopefully it happens! We spent the rest of the day trying to visit members to get to know the wards. and a few less actives.
Friday: We made probably about 150 phone calls trying to set appointments to visist ward council members and all that good stuff. We also gave a blessing to a less active.
Saturday: Did a whole bunch of service around town and had a High priest group social at the church. we also got to watch the culural celebration for the phoenix temple.
Sunday: had a meeting at 0800, The dedication at 1000, another lesson with Brianna at 1330, Then an active member lesson. Then had corelation at Brother Orr's house (4th wml). Then his son asked if I could help him with some questions for his avaition merrit badge. So I just HAD to. ;) It was really fun teaching someone else what all the vocab means and what a rudder does and all that jazz.
Well, I know other stuff happened, I just dont have time to write everything so here is my quote for the week. "A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others." Ayn Rand
Love you guys! keep on keepin' on!
