How is everybody doing? hopefully we are all staying happy! Just remember, happiness is a choice. Attitude=Altitude.
This week wasn't too bad for us down here. Here's a rundown...
Tuesday: attempted to see probably about 15 people. Actually saw about 4. Welcome to missionary work. We had a couple cool experiences though. We went tracting and at one of the houses, A lady answered and said that she was too busy to talk to us because she was taking care of an older woman there at the house. We offered to help in anyway, she politely declined. As we were turning around to leave, The spirit told us to ask if we could pray with the woman. We did, and she said yes. She let us in the home, We met Betty (The older woman), we prayed with her, and offered any service. As we were leaving, She said we could come back anytime.
Another Spirit inspired moment that day happened when we were biking to an appointment on the bike path along the wash. Near the end of the path, There is a gradual turn with about a 3 foot wall on the left side. I was riding on the left side of the path when I got an impression to get to the right side, and fast. So I did. About 10 seconds later, around the corner, on the left side of the path, was a 6 foot snake. It was massive. I do not know whether or not the snake would've gotten me as I went past, But I do Know that the spirit protected me. I have been reflecting on that experience, and many others that I've had on my mission where I knew for certain that the spirit was guiding me. The more we can recognize the fact that the spirit exists, the more He can enter our lives as a protector and a teacher. I promise you, the spirit is real.
Wednesday: More of a fun day. We had district meeting and then a trunk or treat at the church with 3 wards. I think i got more candy than all the kids combined. hahaha the power of the tag!!
Thursday: exchanges with Elder Lowe. He has asthma and hasn't ridden a bike in over a year. So he was having a hard time biking all over the hills of Oro Valley. We did have a great lesson with Phillip though. We helped him see how he can feel the spirit and receive answers to questions. Hopefully he will be getting baptized within the next month or so.
Well I think that wraps up the excitement for the week. So here is the quote!
"Those who say they can, and those who say they can't are both usually right." -Henry Ford
Keep on swimming everyone! I know you can do it. You just gotta believe! Like Peter Pan!
Till next week. Love you all! -Elder Taylor Alston
